A 1983 Audi Quattro was recently unearthed from a barn in Arizona, where it lay hidden since the year 2000. This remarkable discovery came about during a real estate auction, revealing a vehicle that has significantly influenced automotive history. The Audi Quattro, renowned for pioneering the combination of turbocharged engines with all-wheel drive (AWD) in production cars, made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 1980. This model, also known as the Ur-Quattro, boasts a 2.1-liter inline-five cylinder turbocharged engine producing 197 bhp, coupled with a manual transmission and an advanced AWD system.

We were fortunate enough to attend the Maple Brothers Auction in Oklahoma City, OK this past weekend where we spotted plenty of old cars. Amongst the most intriguing was this 1953 GMC Bus! The LS swap of all LS swaps and a bus that any kid would be afraid to ride to school. We’re not sure if the creator was getting ready for the zombie apocalypse or was the leader of the local Rat Rod Club making a statement. Whatever the case the bus seemed to fit either category very well.

If the results from the 2023 Scottsdale, AZ auctions are any indication then there is more treasure than trash and apparently, it’s worth looking for trash to turn into treasure. Finding Old Cars recently attended Barrett-Jackson, Bonhams, RM Sotheby’s and Motorsport Auto Group auctions in Scottsdale, AZ to see if any of the vehicles that have been submitted to our site could indeed be treasures. A few makes and models stood out as we perused the thousands of vehicles that are part of the annual Mecca for collector car enthusiasts.
