A recently uncovered warehouse has revealed a remarkable collection of rare Ford Mustangs and Shelbys, offering a glimpse into the golden era of American muscle cars. The discovery, documented by YouTube's "Adventures Made From Scratch," showcases a variety of first-generation Mustangs, from those requiring complete restorations to meticulously preserved models. This collection highlights some of the rarest and most sought-after Mustangs, including the Shelby GT350 and GT500, Boss 302, and Mach 1 Cobra Jet.
Among the notable finds is a 1969 Boss 302, an SCCA Trans-Am homologation special, which despite needing some restoration, still houses its original 290-horsepower 302-cubic-inch V8 engine. Adjacent to it is a 1969 Shelby GT350, found in a ravine and in dire need of restoration. This rare model, one of only 937 Sportroof GT350s built that year, features a unique front end distinguishing it from standard Mustangs. The collection also includes a solid-condition 1968 Shelby GT350 convertible, one of only 404 produced that year with a retractable soft top, making it a rare find.
Further into the stash, another 1969 Boss 302 in yellow, restored to its original specifications, stands ready to dazzle at car shows. Adding to the rarity is a 1970 Shelby GT350, a leftover 1969 model sold with a 1970 VIN, making it one of the rarest Mustangs in the collection. This Silver Jade beauty is complemented by a 1967 Shelby GT500, notable for its Wimbledon White and blue stripes livery and a powerful 427-cubic-inch side-oiler engine fitted for drag racing.
