Watch: Rare 427 Cobra and Ferrari 275 Extracted from Condemned Garage

For 30 years, a North Carolina garage housed some of the world's most valuable cars, now finally seeing the light of day. From an old episode of Hagerty's Barn Find Hunter, this forgotten treasure trove included a 427 Shelby Cobra and a Ferrari 275 GTB/2 Alloy, which had become the unexpected home for a colony of mice. These classic cars are now on the road to finding a more suitable home after an extended period of hibernation.

Moving the Historic Cars to Safety

The vehicles had been tucked away in a suburban garage since the late 1980s. Alongside the Cobra and Ferrari, the garage also housed a V-8-powered Morgan and a Triumph TR6 with only 9,000 miles on the odometer. The property's owner was recently notified that the city had condemned the unoccupied site, including the garage and the adjoining house, necessitating the immediate relocation of the cars.

Warren, a friend of the car owner, reached out for assistance in moving these million-dollar machines. Moving such valuable and historically significant cars was no small feat, especially with the brakes on three of the cars frozen solid. Local towing companies were unwilling to take on the liability, leaving Warren to seek help from Barn Find Hunter.

Fortunately, the cars were insured through Hagerty, which covered their transport to a nearby storage unit. The operation took 12 hours, with wheel dollies used to maneuver the immobile cars around the garage and onto trailers. As the cars were loaded, a few resident mice made their displeasure known, but the relocation was successful.
